Chris Simon is one of the newest members for the 2017 West Virginia Miners. Chris, a 5’ 10’’, 195-pounder, will be the second member from the University of West Alabama to play for the Miners this year.
At West Alabama, Chris was primarily an outfielder playing in 8 games, with 1 start, in the outfield for the Tigers this year. Chris will provide some depth for the outfield, in case he is needed, but will be primarily used as a pitcher for the Miners this season. Chris did not pitch this year for West Alabama, but he will possibly be getting some pitching time next year for the Tigers, to go along with playing the outfield.
Chris is from Enterprise, Alabama where he found a wealth of success on the mound in his high school career. In high school, Chris boasted a career 3-1 record with a 3.24 ERA, while striking out 30 hitters in 34.2 innings.
