Nick was a huge factor in assisting Eastern New Mexico University to win 18 of their first 23 games during the spring of 2017 through games of March 17. The Portales, NM school is a member of the 7-team NCAA Division II Lone Star Conference.

He is a 6-3, 210 pound resident of Gallop, NM and opposing hitters were only able to touch him for a .179 batting average through his first eight appearances (one start) for ENMU during the spring of 2017 in games through March 17. Over that span in 21 innings of work he struck out 27 hitters while allowing only five walks resulting in him logging a 3-1 record along with one save and a 2.57 earned run average for the Greyhounds. He was a redshirt junior during the spring of 2017, who previously played for Southern Mountain Community College in Phoenix, AZ before arriving at ENMU. He played his high school baseball at Hiroshi Miyamura High School in Gallop, NM, where he earned four years All-District, Second Team All-State and North South Player of the Year honors under coach Bryan Silva.
