Nick returns to the Miners for his second consecutive season in 2017 on the heels of a 2016 season that saw him play for the Eastern Division in the midseason 2016 Prospect League AllStar Game as well as being named to the league’s Eastern Division All*Star Team upon conclusion of the season.

The 59, 190 pound resident of Pompano Beach, FL last summer hit in the leadoff spot for the Miners for the bulk of their 2016 run to the Prospect League championship title. He certainly filled the role well by hitting .309 in 58 games while leading the Miners in four offensive categories on the regular season: at bats (236), runs scored (48), hits (73), and stolen bases (23). Then, for a postseason encore, he finished third on the team in runs scored for the Miners’ four-game playoff sweep of both postseason rounds.

The spring of 2017 saw him playing his senior season at the University of West Alabama, located in Livingston, AL. There, he was striving to match his offensive output of his previous two seasons (2015 and 2016) for the Tigers, when he hit .372 and .353 respectively for UWA, a member of the NCAA Division II Gulf South Conference. His stolen base percentage for his 2015 and 2016 college seasons was .775 (31for*40).
